CA Playworks is a staged reading process, allowing student playwrights, actors, assistant directors, and stage managers, to work together under the supervision of a professional director to produce a staged reading by the end of the festival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scripts will be considered that:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Are submitted as a Playwriting Thespy<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Are previously unproduced<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Have a read-through time at or under 20 minutes<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Adhere to the Content Guidelines for Mainstage Performance\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Indicate interest in Playworks on the Thespy Submission Form\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Up to two (2) plays will be selected for the staged reading process.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Thespy Playwriting is the only pathway to Playworks; there is no option to submit a script outside of the Thespy program.<\/span><\/p>\n
