It’s time to dance!!

The 2023 Festival Finale is Time to Dance: Selections from THE PROM School Edition!

Two of the most exciting moments of the California State Thespian Festival are the opening and closing performances. This is a great way to represent your school and show off your talent on the main stage.

2023 Festival Finale Theme: Everyone has a light, something that brings them joy and passion. Sometimes, this light may be hard to find; sometimes, it can be right in front of you, just out of reach. But once you find it, you feel whole, and freer than you’ve ever been.

The Festival Finale is great for:

  • Thespians who love to dance, sing, and/or act.
  • Thespians who want perform on the mainstage at festival.
  • Thespians who want to collaborate and create with peers from across the state in a supportive atmosphere.

What it is: This year’s Festival Finale will be a cutting of THE PROM Schoo Edition. For this premiere production, we are looking for performers who can act, sing and dance.

Expectations:

  • Selected students will need to learn their music and choreography via video prior to festival.
  • Some performers will also be expected to memorize their lines prior to festival.
  • There will also be several online rehearsals prior to festival to give us a head start.
  • Performers are required to attend all rehearsals at festival. Rehearsals will be Friday, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning.
  • Performers who are competing in Thespys, Scenefest, or auditioning for Playworks will be dismissed from rehearsal for their designated time slots.
  • Performers are expected to behave in a professional manner backstage and while working with the artistic staff.

Fee: This event is free to participate in.
