Being a State Thespian Officer (STO) is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, strive for change within the Thespian community, and hone your leadership skills in a productive environment. Throughout the year, STOs emcee for Thespian events, represent students in decision making, and work hard to make sure all voices are heard. Each STO has a specialty job as well, also known as a Chair, such as Communications, Festival, Social Media, and more!

STO applications are open to ALL California Thespians! STOs are elected to a one-year term, from July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026. Each troupe may nominate up to two active members of their Thespian Society to run for office with the recommendation of the Troupe Director. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater, attend a So You Want To Be A STO session, and complete the application to apply. If the student is elected, the Troupe Director does not automatically become a member but is encouraged to join the State Board.
