Late Night Events happen on Friday and Saturday night. These events start at 8:00pm and go until 10:00pm.
The late night events are: Improv Spectacular, Thespians Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle, and Trivia Under the Stars.
The benefits of Late Night Events are to allow students to perform in a fun, non competitive environment.
Late Night Events are great for:
– new troupes who are exploring the opportunities of Festival
– returning troupes who want to perform for their peers
– anyone who wants to showcase their chops
– Troupe Directors and Chaperones who want to run a fun night activity
Improv Spectacular Improv groups perform for adjudication. Each team made of 4-5 students from at least two different troupes.
Thespians Got Talent is a talent show. This is a very popular event to perform in and to observe. Students can sign up for solo or group performances. All performances must be under three minutes.
Lip Sync Battle is a performance where students battle each other with lip sync performances. This is a high energy event! Students can sign up for solo or group performances. All performances must be under three minutes.
Trivia Under the Stars is where students will test their knowledge of all things theatre. No sign ups necessary.
To participate:
Sign up in the lobby of the Highlander at the Information Table. Deadline to sign up for Thespians Got Talent and Lip Sync Battle for each night is 6:00pm
Troupes can prepare performances before going to festival for Thespians Got Talent and Lip Sync Battle.
Thespians Got Talent will have one microphone for the actors to use.
Rules: please only sign up for one time slot for Thespians Got Talent.
Fee: These events are free for all Festival registrants.
Adjudication: Late night is a non-competitive relaxed environment.
