California State Thespian Festival offers a variety of opportunities for budding student directors. Three of our Main Stage events benefit from the guidance of passionate, organized, creative and responsible Thespians.

- Opening Number (virtual rehearsals pre-Festival, rehearsals all day Friday of Festival, performance Friday night)
- Assistant Choreographer
- Playworks (virtual meetings pre-Festival, rehearsals Friday and Saturday of Festival, performance Sunday)
- Assistant Director

- Festival Finale (virtual rehearsals pre-Festival, rehearsals Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Festival, performance Sunday)

Production Leadership Application
Up to three students from each troupe may apply for these Production Leadership positions.

Students in Production Leadership Roles may participate in Thespys.
Due to scheduling conflicts, they may not be on Student Tech Crew, Festival Finale Cast, or Playworks cast.
Application (due Nov 30): Apply using Open Water. Applications include a self-taped interview.
Adjudication: The professional directors leading each event will review all applications and select their top candidates based on skillset, experience, and interest of the candidates. Consideration will be given to ensure the maximum number of troupes are represented.
